Training Programs

Training Programs

Youth Futures provides short to medium term training options. Currently programs are aimed at developing and/or building on work related skills in the Rural, AgriFood Wine Industry sectors. As a nationally recognised RTO (Registered Training Organisation) Youth Futures' skills program offers skill sets from Certificate I & II  qualifications and are tailored to suit the specific industry/employer and/or individual.

Youth Futures Training Progams are open to all; both job seekers and people already employed in the Rural, Wine, Horticulture and/or Agrifood industries. There is some government financial support available but generally all programs require some degree of support from employers and/or Job Active agency/provider (i.e. a Job Network). Our Training Programs can be provided onsite (for people already employed) or provided in closely simulated workplace environments. Job seekers may also be offered opportunities for short term and casual/seasonal employment during the period of the Program.

We encourage employers to discuss training needs with us and explore options of tailoring a program to your workforce. Job Active agencies are encouraged to explore the possibilities of working together with us for the benefit of your clients. We can also often tailor training to meet specific learning needs. Please contact us to discuss your training needs further.

What Programs are Available?
We currently have a range of Training Programs. The programs include accredited training that is recognised Australia wide and can count toward full certificates. The programs we offer are:

  • Rural, AgriFood and Vineyard Skills Programs:
These programs are focused on building Rural and AgriFood skills, particularly Viticulture skills. As a primary component, the Rural and Vineyard Skills Programs revolve around maintaining and working at Heritage Forest Community Garden. This is a "rolling" program where participants can join at almost any time of year (after attending an initial induction). The skills and qualifications available at any point in time will depend on seasonal availability.  The Units of Competence and Skill Sets are drawn from AHC10216 Ceritficate I in AgriFood Operations, AHC20316 Certificate II in Production Horticulture and FBP20518 Certificate II in Wine Industry Operations.

All Training Programs are run in small groups and in a supportive environment. Where extra support is required with language, literacy and numeracy, programs are tailored to suit all LLN levels.
